Still closed – until further notice
Restrictions are easing today, but the Centre will not be opening yet. The Board of Management will meet on 21 October to discuss when it will be feasible for us to re-open, then pass on that information to the Activity Convenors at a meeting on 1 November. I will keep you informed.
In the mean-time, please stay safe, enjoy the rain but watch out for slippery roads if you’re out and about.
You’ve probably been following the news better than I have, but here’s the latest on restrictions:
If you and your friends are fully vaccinated, from today you can travel from the Central Coast to Sydney or Wollongong (Greater Sydney travel area only), have a small group of people at your house (up to 10), have a big picnic (up to 30), attend your local pool for rehab activities or laps, have dinner out, or even visit the zoo (if you feel like it)!
You will need to have evidence of your double dose vaccine, or medical exemption, with you at all times (from the Australian Immunisation Register – a printed copy or digital version…See below for more information at **).
You must still check in when you go to a shop or any other indoor venue, and follow face mask rules – wear the face mask indoors, on public transport, and where people are too close for comfort!
If you are not fully vaccinated, stay at home orders are still in place. You can still shop, exercise, visit the doctor, etc. as we all have been over the last few weeks. Nothing’s changed for you. …… Please be careful :
eg, please don’t ‘hang out’ with 200 of your mates at the beach and have an all night party, then buy a cake to visit your old friend who isn’t feeling too well! (silly example, but that sort of thing is happening!).
We can all still catch and spread COVID-19 so get tested if you have any symptoms or have possibly been exposed, and stay at home if you feel unwell.
With best wishes to all
Lyn P – Secretary.
